Full-Scribe log joinery is the oldest form of log home construction. Its techniques are centuries old and have remained virtually unchanged. Full-Scribe building techniques require many years of apprenticeship before one can truly master its intricacies. Full-Scribe is also known as the "chinkless" method. The logs are naturally shaped and smoothly peeled that are scribed and custom-fitted to one another. The California flagstone woodburning fireplace is the centerpiece of the home’s open floor plan. The fireplace’s interior is solid block masonry. Fans & vents are built into the fireplace to add even more warmth on cold winter evenings. There are beautiful cathedral ceilings that reach 22 ft. from the floor to the upper level. The main heating for the home, however, isn’t the expansive fireplace. The home has a large furnace, which can use gas, coal or wood. The furnace is forced hot air and heats the entire home efficiently.
