An unexpected oasis in the surrounding desolation, the reservoir now beckons with a nationally acclaimed fishery and very nice State Park recreational facilities. Nevada Department of Wildlife and Fisheries monitors and regularly re-stocks the reservoir with gamefish such as Walleye, Wiper, Rainbow Trout, Crappie, Bass or Channel Catfish. While fishing season is year around, the best time to fish varies with the species. The Rye Patch Recreation Area is a great place for boating, jet skiing, water skiing and swimming.
